Yarn Splitter Machine Daily Maintenance Checklist for Textile Production Lines

When textile factories purchase a yarn splitter machine, most production managers focus on its splitting efficiency and finished yarn quality, while overlooking the long-term value of standardized daily maintenance. Many unexpected shutdowns, uneven splitting effect and premature component wear are not caused by equipment quality defects, but by irregular maintenance operations on the production site. Forming a complete daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checklist is an effective way to extend the service life of the yarn splitter machine and stabilize continuous production, which is also a basic management requirement for modern spinning workshops.

The first part of daily maintenance needs to be completed by the operator before starting up each shift. Operators should first carry out external cleaning of the yarn splitter machine, remove the accumulated fly yarn, short fiber and dust attached to the yarn guide roller, splitting blade assembly and tension adjustment parts. Fly yarn winding on rotating parts will increase running resistance, lead to unstable tension of raw yarn, and even cause yarn breakage during splitting. At the same time, it is necessary to visually check whether the fasteners of the splitting mechanism are loose, whether the surface of the guide wheel has scratches and burrs. Burrs on the guide wheel are easy to scratch the yarn surface, resulting in hairiness increase of the finished split yarn, which affects the subsequent weaving process. After the appearance inspection, the operator can carry out no-load test run for 1 to 2 minutes, observe whether the equipment has abnormal vibration, abnormal noise and offset of the transmission belt, and record the running state in the equipment operation log.

Weekly maintenance is deeper than daily inspection, focusing on lubrication and precision calibration of key moving parts of the yarn splitter machine. The bearing parts of the main shaft, tension roller bearing and adjustment screw of the splitting assembly need to be supplemented with textile-specific high-temperature lubricating grease according to the manufacturer’s operation manual. It is necessary to avoid excessive oil filling, because excess lubricating oil may splash and pollute the yarn, forming oil stain defects on the finished yarn. After lubrication, the technician needs to recheck the parallelism between the splitting blades and the yarn guide group. The parallelism error directly determines the uniformity of yarn splitting. If the blade is tilted, the yarn strands will be stressed unevenly, and some strands will be too tight and break frequently. In addition, the filter screen of the dust removal system matched with the yarn splitter machine should be cleaned every week. The built-in dust removal device can absorb the short fibers generated in the splitting process. Blocked filter screen will reduce air suction capacity, and a large amount of fly yarn will diffuse into the workshop air, which is not conducive to workshop environmental management and operator health protection.

Monthly maintenance belongs to the preventive maintenance link, which needs to be undertaken by professional maintenance technicians of the factory or after-sales engineers of the equipment supplier. The inspection content includes the wear degree of the splitting blade, the aging state of the transmission belt, the accuracy of the tension sensor and the stability of the electrical control circuit. The splitting blade is a vulnerable part of the yarn splitter machine. Long-term friction with yarn will lead to blade passivation. The passivated blade cannot complete neat splitting, and the section of split yarn will be fluffy and irregular. Technicians should measure the blade wear thickness with a caliper, replace the blade in time when it exceeds the allowable wear range, and complete the gap debugging after replacement. The transmission belt will gradually age and stretch after long-time operation. Excessive belt clearance will cause the main shaft speed to fluctuate, and the splitting speed will be unstable. For the electrical part, it is necessary to check whether the terminal of the frequency converter and the contact of the sensor are loose, clean the dust in the electric control box, and prevent short circuit failure caused by fiber dust entering the electrical components.

In the maintenance management of the yarn splitter machine, we also need to formulate corresponding operation norms for different production conditions. For workshops with high humidity in the south, anti-rust treatment should be done for metal parts such as blades and guide rollers. After the equipment is shut down for a long time, the surface of metal parts can be coated with a thin layer of anti-rust oil, and covered with dust-proof cloth. For the production line with high load and 24-hour continuous operation, the cycle of lubrication and blade inspection can be appropriately shortened according to the actual production situation. It is worth noting that all maintenance operations must be carried out after cutting off the main power supply of the equipment, and the power-off warning sign should be hung to avoid accidental start-up and mechanical injury accidents, which is a safety specification that must be followed in textile machinery operation.

Many textile enterprises will ignore the training of operators in maintenance work. Some operators only know how to start and stop the yarn splitter machine, but cannot judge the early abnormal signs of the equipment. Therefore, regular technical training should be arranged for front-line operators, so that they can distinguish the difference between normal operating sound and abnormal sound, master the method of judging yarn abnormality caused by equipment failure and raw yarn quality problems. Establishing equipment maintenance files for each yarn splitter machine is also a good management method. The file records the time of each maintenance, the replaced vulnerable parts, the fault phenomenon and treatment scheme, which can help managers count the failure law of the equipment, formulate a more scientific spare parts reserve plan, and reduce the production loss caused by waiting for spare parts after failure.
